Students may choose to augment the their Materials Science and Engineering degree with an additional major or minor. There is a wide variety of programs available within the University, but these are a few of the most common additional degrees MSE students pursue.

Materials Science and Engineering/Biomedical Engineering (MSE-BME) 

Combines the strong foundation in mathematics and physical sciences associated with materials science with the development of skills to rigorously analyze the implication of engineering activities in a biological and medical context.

While most MSE students select the TCB track when pursuing an MSE-BME degree, additional tracks are available.

Materials Science and Engineering/Engineering and Public Policy (MSE-EPP)

Combines the strong foundation in mathematics and physical sciences associated with materials science with the development of skills to rigorously analyze the implication of engineering activities in social and political arenas using economics, statistics, decision-making, and communication.

Materials Science and Engineering/Engineering Design, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (MSE-EDIE)

Provide students the know-how to pioneer products around technology and deliver product solutions to the people who need them. with the ability to design, develop, and deliver economically viable solutions to the real-world challenges of today and tomorrow.
